Building Envelope & Roof Consultant/ Inspector

The Sacramento Office of DTR Consulting Services, Inc. (DTR) is seeking a building envelope (enclosure) field technician to conduct site observations and assist in investigations of building envelope components.  Candidate to have a minimum of 3 years of field experience in a similar position.

Position includes inspection & installation oversight below grade waterproofing, roofing, masonry, flashings, EIFS/plaster, deck waterproofing/coatings, rain screens, tank liners, weather vapor barriers and window framing assemblies for medium-to-large scale residential, institutional and commercial projects. Applicant must have the ability to clearly understand construction drawings and specifications, and document field observations in written field reports. Individual must have a good driving record and a reliable personal vehicle and willing to travel.  DTR will provide initial training in our methods of operation, but candidates must have solid demonstrated knowledge of building construction and prior field experience with a similar consulting firm.

This person may be currently working in an architectural office or simply have a strong interest in wanting to work in the architectural field. DTR is one of the largest construction specifications writing firms in the United States.  This position will include working with other specifiers and building envelope architects to develop technical specifications, including assisting designer with product selections and product research.   Position is open to those with strong writing skills and a will to learn.
